Two posts again today from students!
July 19
Today was our second to last day in Morales Chupa and we spent the majority of the time painting and designing the mural that we produced for them. We also repainted the exterior and interior of the newly roofed bathroom. Our very own kind, thoughtful, and selfless Floria intricately designed the beautiful mural for the community. It’s weird to be so close to our departure. In less than a week we’ll be in the Galápagos!

July 20
Today was our last day in Morales Chupa. We spent the morning painting murals as well as a “Welcome to Morales Chupa” sign. After finishing at around 2:30, the entire community of Morales Chupa gathered to celebrate a job well done with music, dancing, and food. Many important people in the community spoke to express their gratitude for our work, and each of us was given a scarf as a going away gift. In return, we gave them a homemade card and some school supplies for the preschool. Although we were sad to say goodbye, we were glad to hear that we have made a long-lasting impact.

Painting murals on our last day.

A welcome sign for the village.

Students have been working on their independent projects. Here two students are helping milk cows in the morning.
