The following post features student writing.

Buenos tardes, blog readers, it’s Carter and Sam. After three tiresome days of manual labor, today was a great opportunity to take it easy. Yet, we still had an early morning wakeup. To finish off the process of the five-meter hole we dug, the group helped mix cement for the covering. After only working the morning, we did some group bonding activities and returned to the host house in Turuco. The group was given the option to visit the town of Cotacochi or stay back and participate in a game of soccer. Both groups enjoyed their respective activities before returning to the house to have dinner. The relaxed nature of today was in preparation for tomorrow’s taxing Laguna hike.
